Judy Rossi VP of Communications and Digital Business

I am pleased to announce that we have globalized the communications and digital business functions and effective immediately, Judy Rossi has been promoted to Vice President, Global Communications & Digital Business. Judy, who is based in the Norwell, MA office in the U.S. will continue to report directly to me.

Global Communications & Digital Business is responsible for supporting the internal and external communications, digital marketing and ecommerce needs for all of Smiths Medical. This team will be primarily focused on the following four areas:
·         Marketing Communications – Directly supporting Global Products as well as Global Sales & Marketing to create awareness, build our brand and corporate identity, drive demand for our products and services and help improve sales effectiveness.
·         Digital Business – Support our global sales and marketing efforts using digital solutions, drive revenue via ecommerce applications, help improve sales effectiveness and support internal and external marketing and communications programs.
·         Exhibitions & Events – Includes planning and logistical support for major external trade shows, exhibitions and congresses as well as major internal events to support business objectives.
·         Internal Communications & Public Relations – Manage the external PR efforts for Smiths Medical, and support Smiths Group with investor relations, media relations and government affairs. Build and maintain global level internal communications programs and tools that support the executive team and the global functions.

Judy and her team will focus initially on building the communications and digital business function  globally as well as putting in place processes, systems and tools that will support a global function and allow us to effectively scale our digital business and communications efforts. Judy joined Smiths Medical in 2007 and has made a positive contribution to our marketing communications and internal communications efforts.
Judy has 25 years of experience in strategic corporate and marketing communications for multi-national companies in life sciences, medical technology and medical device including Philips Medical Systems, Agilent Technologies, Chiron Diagnostics, and ACMI. She holds a Masters Degree in Mass Communications and a Bachelors Degree in Biology.
